PASIG POST OFFICE SUCKS!!!

Ever since we moved to Pasig, I have had 3 packages I was expecting from the US not reach me. I didn't have this kind of a problem when we lived in San Juan. One package getting lost in the mail, I can understand... But three consecutive packages not delivered one after the other? I don't even get a notice to pick up the packages at the post office. I don't think it's the fault of the people who mailed me, since these are three separate people. How can three separate people get one address wrong??!?!

Stuff being delivered by courier, or house bills, they get delivered, since these are all via messengers. But things sent through the mail? A definite NO. Does the Post Office not know where my street is located? Is the Pasig City Postal Service stealing my packages? Those are the only things I can think of. The former option, incompetence, the latter, a crime being committed. Either way is unacceptable behavior for people in public service. I can't even find a phone listing for them.

If anyone reading this can help out, or if any of you has any suggestion on how I can rectify this matter, please feel free to leave a note in the comments section. I'd really appreciate it.

PASIG POST OFFICE, PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!!!! (Although I'm not holding my breath...)

Hey, Reno. We've experienced that once when someone sent a jewelry via mail. Nothing arrived not even a claim stub from the post. I doubt everytime I buy something outside the country, I make sure to use my parent's address instead of my current address here in Pasig.

I only had tried once when a friend of mine from States sent me a plush toy. That's only one time I received a stub to claim it. Maybe the people at the post thought it was just a toy, nothing in high value for them to steal or sell.

I just hope they're honest with their job in the post office. From now I'm sure their souls are prepared to be burn in hell from what they're doing.

Let's hope you'll get your stuff soon. I'd prefer to have expensive express shipping instead of not getting the stuff. :)

Hi Ed...

Yeah, I'm thinking of having stuff sent to other people I know and trust, or at least getting a P.O. box at the Greenhills post office. I've been reading around the internet and it seems the Pasig Post Office is one of the worst. Makati seems to be the best, although you have to really wait out the long lines. Like i said, I didn't have this sort of problem when I lived in San Juan, so it's not like all local post offices are problematic.

We have our PO box in greenhills hehe.

Thanks for the tip, Gilbert. Magkano ba PO Box sa Greenhills?

i have to agree with you; i live in pasig and i regularly shop via the net. on the occasions that i have to use regular postal mail, it takes about a month for the post office notice to arrive; i guess i'm even lucky cause i haven't lost anything yet(including a few signature bags).
but whenever i do have the option, i select global registered mail with tracking number; it costs a tad more but at least all of my packages arrive here pretty quickly.

Hey guys, I would like to know how much a post office box costs? Thanks.

I've inquired at Fax Parcel & Print. it's kinda steep, around PhP800++ for a month. Haven't inquired with any post office yet.

Hi. Im sorry to butt in but I bought something online and just received the notice that a parcel is in the mail. Haowever, I dont know where Pasig PO is. It just said Pasig Central Office and I actually dont know where exactly that is. I just would like to ask where in Pasig is the PO office that you get your packages from?

Reno said...

Hi Brian... Haven't really been there myself, I just tip a messenger to get my parcels for me. But I know it's near the Pasig City hall, if you ride the Jeepnet from Shaw blvd. The "Pasig Palengke" route gets you there. Search "Pasig City Hall" in Google Maps and you can get directions on how to get there. :)

hi.. i'm expecting a package from Malaysia-taiwan to Philippines. It;s just a silver necklace & bracelet.. It;s almost a month but i still havent received any claim stub here at the office (Ortigas). Before i had another package from US but addressed in Manila where we live & i received the claim stub & the package in less than a month.

I called the Ortigas / Pasig post office but told me to wait for the claim stub. I asked if they have any contact # cause they said, they cannot track the items cause its in the CUSTOMS dept (maybe on the other building) & said they dont have phone or contact # there..

That's another piece of evidence of why the Pasig post office is such a mess.

I suggest just getting a P.O. Box in nearby San Juan, since when I lived there I didn't have any problems with my packages.

oh my god.. i'm just new here in pasig and just read your comments.. im expecting a letter that contains a money maybe next week said the sender. hopefully, i can get it soon.. if, and only if they have the conscience and whatsoever...

Very recent experience with the Pasig City Post Office. My friend from the US sent me a package on Sept 2. The 2 postal notices arrived in our house, dated Sept 14 and Oct 13, on Nov 15 only(3 months)!!! We went to the post office Nov 18, only to find out that it was sent back to owner on Nov 2. They even cared to send the notices huh! My friend in the US hasn't rcvd the box yet :(

Gosh. So that's why our package containing our VISA papers and other stuff hasn't arrived yet... It's very important and almost delayed for 2 days and if we didn't received it before the end of this year, our education will be delayed and all of my parents hard earned cash will turn into ashes!
I don't want to think negative of them yet (even though I'm already cursing them since yesterday, I'm still hoping) but after reading this my thoughts of having Christmas without my mother and delaying my education because of they're lack of responsibility? GOD. I want to kill them!!!
I think I should tell this to my mom and go to that cursed post office by tomorrow or any day this week. I'm new here in Pasig and I really don't know how to get there but thanks to Google Maps I found out that the damned post office is actually near to us!(10 minutes via tricycle).

Really, thanks for posting this, I would never knew how irresponsible most of the people working at the PASIG CITY POST OFFICE if I hadn't had to read this and the comments, and maybe still waiting like ignorant until forever, never knowing what's really happening and the chance that it's also gonna happen to us. I think people experiencing this should also do something so "they" will refrain from doing these things and for them to realize that they must raise their morals a bit.

P.S. Sorry for ranting, but most of the time, like many people, I'm doing it when I sense injustice or something just isn't right.

How do you claim parcels in Pasig Post office after receiving the notice? Matiding paghihintay at pila ba ang mangyayari? Do we also pay for anything? Or we just present the notice/stub and get the parcel?

Reno said...

I pay a messenger to claim my stuff for me, sometimes I need to pay him extra since he had to pay something at the post office, usually around PhP100 or more.

My last two packages arrived without a hitch, so maybe things are improving with the Pasig post office now (I hope).

I've been living in Pasig for four years now.

Every year, my mom sends Christmas and birthday gifts to her apo here. Of all the packages that have been sent via Pasig Post Office, only one (1) notice has ever been received.

The packages were clearly labeled with the correct address. They were also sent by REGISTERED mail and were INSURED, which did nothing to help.

We never received them. Not even a postal notice from the Pasig Central Post Office. They were not returned to the sender either.

Even greeting cards arrive tampered - either opened along the top or side. The Pasig post office even stamps a message to let me know that it was "damaged". At least they take the time to tape it shut.

Instead, we tried having things sent to our Quezon City address so it would arrive at the Quezon City Post Office.

BIG MISTAKE.

Our international credit cards and other documents NEVER ARRIVED. Someone stole them, figured out the PIN code, and went on a shopping spree at Louis Vuitton.

WE FILED A POLICE REPORT regarding the mail stolen from the Quezon City Post Office. Of course, they didn't do anything.

So now we're back to using the PASIG POST OFFICE.

I've just received a postal notice to claim a package at the PASIG CENTRAL POST OFFICE but they don't indicate where their office is. It is different from the Pasig Post Office near Emerald Aveneue.

The last time I went to the Pasig Central Post office, the building was abandoned and nobody could tell me exactly where it was. "Somewhere over there" with a wave of the hand, was the standard reply.

@%#!!

Anonymous, I sympathize. If you're looking for the real Pasig CPO, I think it's housed at or near the Pasig City Hall.

One alternative would be to get a San Juan PO Box in Greenhills. I have a friend who lives in Pasig but has a PO box there and he hasn't encountered any problems. I also lived in San Juan for a while and I didn't encounter any problems with my mail.

A more expensive alternative is to have things sent by courier. It's expensive, but a lot safer.

Anonymous said...

Reno,

Awesome! Thanks for the info. The Pasig CPO really is near the City Hall. They even have a big sign.

And I never would have thought about using San Juan - brilliant idea!

Here's a sloppy wet kiss for you. MWAH!

Thanks so very much again!

Best post office in Phils is Marikina. All of my package arrive earlier than expected and 100% delivery wala pang kurakot na naninigil tax kuno.

This is scary huh! We can't trust these guys, really. My dad received my order but the envelope is torn and opened, they don't really care if we see it was opened, they didn't even taped or repacked it! My dad wasn't able to question the delivery guy because he didn't notice it was open, it was folded so he didn't see it right away. I think they want to check what's inside but since it's something not important or interesting, (just a plastic toy)they didn't bother stealing it.

parcels are normally not under the ambit of the postal office as the same is actually responsible for letters. These parcels are either diverted to the customs, for duties, as a matter of course.

making a trace with the post office is in order.

Waaaaaaaa....Just moved in here in Pasig and I really dont have any idea about the Postal Office lapses.I'm quiet disgusted because the parcel I was expecting has not arrived yet. Hope and pray the Pasig Post Office will be of good service and be honest..And deliver it to me soon. Haiztttt... If I only knew, I should have asked my mama to send it to our old address..

Hi, i am from marikina. I start buying thru online at ebay. Since mura sya at bidding sya so marami ako nabili ang cost nya not more than $1 - $50.

The value indicate super not material at inipon nila yung item at naka indicate pa as a gift.

Please help

Reno said...

Hi ebay buyer...

I'm not familiar din with the inner workings of the post office, pero from my experience living in different places, di rin sila consistent kung anong fees ang china-charge.

Hope this helped.

Hi...

Lagi ako nagpapadala sa Pasig POst Office kasi mas malapit lang sya sa work ko compare sa Makati...tama kayo dyan, makurakot sila. pati pagpapak nila ng bagahe binayaran ko, magmula sa box, pagod nila. hay naku, what a shame!

hey guys,

i'm also a regular ebay buyer and so far lahat naman dumadating sa akin pag mga single package, not sure about this new 45 separate orders I made kasi oct 30 ko sya inorder, 2 pa lang ang dumadating sakin as of this moment.

just be patient, mababait naman ang tao sa customs. they usually charge 40 pesos for a small package, dati nasa 30-35 lang yata and check nyo din yung estimated arrival ng items nyo sa supplier, i usually wait until 30 days and add extra 5 days pag wala pa din. after nun i confirm sa shipper kung napadala ba yung item then i ask again for the tracking number and show it to the people sa customs.

that's it, hope it helps.

Anonymous said...

pwede ba natin yang i painbestigador para malaman natin kung bakit hindi dumadating yung mga package natin..ang sakin more than a month na wala parin..i hope it was not stolen just like almost everybody's saying..

Essamae said...

Reno said...

Pasig PO Parcel People (outgoing) are the worst kind of postal employees in the Philippines. They have inconsistent rules on what is acceptable and not acceptable for parcel mailing! They Demand that you wrap your boxes with Manila paper and Packaging Tapes which they would bill you without receipt. Obviously scam! They are rude and unreasonable.

On the other hand the guys in the Parcel Claim are the best. I have not lost a single arriving parcel since 2008 when i started a collection hobby. They dont tamper my parcel and charge according to the law.

For the best service for outbound parcel , go to Greenhills PO. They are the best in service. Airconditioned, clean and they offer help and tips on how to make your parcels economical and acceptable.

My husband sent me 2 pieces of watches. I received a claim stub last Nov 28.. Im planning to get it next week. Im trying to check the location and napadpad ako dito.

Reno Maniquis said...

If you received a stuff I guess that's a bit of a good sign. he packages I didn't receive, I didn't even get claim stubs from them. But the senders showed me proof that they've mailed them to me. So kung may claim stub that means the stuff your husband sent is there. Hopefully 'di nila pakialaman.

I've ordered several packages through the Pasig Main Post Office with no problems. However, last December, a friend of mine sent me 5 kilos of special hard-to-find gummi bears and other candies from Germany. This package never arrived and I complained to the parcel pickup office. I showed her the China Post tracking number and she just had me write my name on the logbook along with the tracking number. I asked her how I can get the package and she said that it never arrived and maybe it was sent back. She basically said, "The package is gone, sorry buddy." I think someone from the post office ate the contents in my package after inspecting it and noticing these were some seriously awesome gummi bears. These gummis had special berry juices inside among other hard-to-get flavors. There is no reason why it should have gone missing when the China Post website showed that the package reached Manila Customs Bureau.

What is even more ridiculous is this system of picking up packages at the main post office. Pasig Post Office is difficult to find and driving there is a maze of winding streets and one-way roads. Good luck if one of the boys in the blue uniforms don't pull you over just because you are lost and drive down a one-way street. That's just insane that the Philippines postal service can get away with losing or stealing mail.

Here are a few questions to address:

1. Why is the Pasig Post Office in such poor condition if it services some of the wealthiest barangays in the Philippines, has a major billion-peso BPO district (Ortigas Center), and services the rest of Pasig City as well?

2. Considering the traffic congestion and inconvenience to go to the present post office location, wouldn't it be a good idea to put the post office in a more accessible location like near C-5 or along Ortigas Ext./Meralco Ave or Megamall?

3. If I live in Ortigas, why do I have to drive all the way to City Hall just to pick up a package? Why don't packages go to Ortigas Post Office if my address is in Ortigas?

4. I ordered a package that cost 20 pesos in China. Why am I still being charged the 100p flat rate? That is just f&*%ing stupid.

5. If the Philippines copies or adopts government standards that are similar to the US, then having an updated, modern postal service that isn't full of corrupt workers who like to steal gummi bears should be standard throughout the country and this is just good for everyone. Don't you agree?

6. Why doesn't someone do something about it?

LUCKEYTEACHER, I feel your pain. Sadly, I don't have any answers to your questions. :(
